Warrior Eagle: Historic Applique Quilt Pattern. Four Block or Single Block Reproduction Quilt. Civil War Era Patchwork from Barbara Brackman
The Warrior Eagle is an adaptation of a pattern that appears again and again in quilts from about 1850 to 1910. The eagle’s militant stance (where is that olive branch?) and the word “Liberty” in the banner indicate a strong political position but the meaning seems to be lost.
Full-size applique patterns for a 100" x 100" four‐block quilt and a smaller 58” quilt. The eagle block finishes to 36" x 36".
Pattern from Barbara Brackman & the Sunflower Pattern Co‐operative. The pattern was originally printed in my book Civil War Women with a model by Jean Stanclift. Includes: 11 color 8-1/2" x 11" sheets to print yourself.
