This is a cast iron tool made by Adamson Mfg Co., of East Palestine, Ohio. It is a tire repair and vulcanizing tool. It is made of cast iron and has steel bolts and wingnuts. One part was patented in 1913 and the other side in 1912. It works by clamping the tire or inner tube with rubber patch or gum in place between the two parts. The pronged cavity is filled with gasoline or alcohol and set on fire. The heat seals the patch. This is, despite its weight, considered to be a portable repair tool.
This item is 6 3/4 inches long and 3 3.8 inches wide. It is 2 inches deep. The tool is in good condition. There is slight rust on the inside edge. Overall very good condition.
