This pin cushion is a classic plaid pattern in beautiful jewel tones of gold, red, and green. The hand stitched spider work is a complementary thread.
This reproduction of Canterbury Shaker Village's Tomato Pin Cushion is made by hand from start to finish - in the same way the Shakers made them.
The base of the pin cushion is solid cherry. The band is steamed and hand wrapped around a mold after the overlap finger has been hand carved. Copper tacks are then used to secure the band.
The pin cushion is handmade from high quality decorator or upholstery weight fabrics. Each pin cushion is beautifully unique because of the variety of fabrics used. True to Shaker design and technique, each pin cushion is hand stitched with detailed spider work.
Each pin cushion is stamped and hand signed by the artist. Hang tag with description attached.
Pin cushion measures approx. 3 inches across and is 2 inches high.
