Made from Spalted Pecan, this tool is used by Circular Sock Machine (CSM) users Nd hand knitters to knit the toe area of socks by running the needles over the curved surface of the jack to bring the strands of wool together. The jack has two different sized bulbs: 3" and 1 1/2" to accommodate different sock sizes. About 10" long. Please note that this particular jack has a smaller than normal small bulb. This design change was made necessary by a flaw in the wood blank which could not be entirely removed - see picture. This is a piece of Spalted Pecan that is just too beautiful to discard. The jack is fully functional at the 3" diameter end and the smaller end can still be used for smaller socks. By special order, jacks are also available in some exotic woods such as Purpleheart and Paduck. Toe Jacks from these other woods are priced separately because of the differences in the costs of the different woods so please identify the type of wood desired before placing an order. Due to the wide variations in shipping costs depending on the destination, costs are estimates only. If you live in the US, please indicate your zip code prior to placing an order or, if you live outside North America, please indicate the city and country where you live so that more accurate shipping costs can be determined.
