Item details

Handyed, handspun Mohair yarn. This artyarn is lockspun from Mohair locks from a fleece grown by an Angora goat named Dallas, who lives on a small farm in rural Northamptonshire.

The yarn is made from two lockspun singles, plied together to produce a strong, lightweight yarn, that retains the character of the locks. It averages 7wpi (wraps per inch), as it is thick and thin spin.

It is sold in 3 balls all together, totalling:

113 metres
Approx. 145g
2-ply Aran weight 7wpi average, thick and thin

Thick and thin means that the thickness of the yarn varies, creating texture in the finished material.

Half of the locks were handdyed in a pewter colour, the remaining half remaining their natural colour. The natural colour does vary slightly.
