Item details

A rose for your Valentine

A folding knife for the ladies. Or for the discerning gentleman.

The copper handle has a raised inlay rose surrounded by a very fine "nanako" texture. Nanako is done with a punch, each dot punched separately.
The handle is patinated and sealed with baked-on Urushi lacquer.

The blade is made of high carbon tool steel, differentially hardened and tempered for tough blade with a hard edge.

Handle length: 3 3/4" (95mm)
Blade lenght: 3 1/8" (80mm)
Blade width: 5/8" (16mm)

A higonokami is the ideal ladies' knife because of it ease of opening and closing, and it is extremely safe to use as there is no chance of the blade closing on a finger. This is because the tab is always held in the hand, either under the thumb or under a finger.
