An elegant yarn bowl in serene green celadon with delicate hand-painted blue irises. The Details: -Dimensions: Measures about 6 1/8" (15.6 cm) wide across the top and about 4 1/4" (10.8 cm) tall. -Signed by the artist.
The Making Process: I formed this graceful bowl on the potter’s wheel from smooth white stoneware clay. I carefully carved the cutouts when the clay was ready, and freely hand-painted the irises with clay slip (a particularly liquid form of the clay) that was tinted blue. I glazed the piece in glossy celadon green and fired it to maturity at Cone 10 (about 2300 degrees Fahrenheit) for durability. For a final touch, I sanded the unglazed foot of the bowl to create a soft surface for the table.

I ship USPS Priority Mail (for US deliveries) within three business days after your payment has cleared.

To international locations, I ship USPS First Class Mail, except for oversized shipments, which will be shipped USPS Priority Mail. Please note that buyers are responsible for any and all duties and customs charges that may be incurred.
Please understand that packaging gets expensive for carefully shipping pottery, and that this is factored into the cost of shipping. I primarily use new boxes, bubble wrap, and reused or biodegradable packing peanuts to ship, but I like to reuse like-new boxes and packing material when I can. This is one way in which I can save resources – both the planet’s and my own! Please tell me in your “message to seller” if you require new packing materials.

If you need to cancel an order, please contact me immediately. Orders may not be cancelled after they have shipped.
Returns & exchanges
Returns: I make my pots to be enjoyed, and I believe a pot should go where it will be loved! If you are not wholly satisfied with your purchase, please send me a message to notify me that you’ll be returning it. You may return items by shipping them back to me within 10 days, insured and in their original packaging. Upon my receipt of the undamaged items, you’ll receive a refund for the price of the item and applicable taxes. I apologize that I cannot refund shipping charges.
Unfortunately, custom orders and personalized items may not be returned or exchanged.
Damaged or lost shipments: If an item arrives to you in a damaged condition, or if you believe a shipment to be lost, please notify me immediately and we will work together to resolve the problem. If your item arrived damaged, please include a photo (or photos) of the item clearly showing the damage, as well as the packing material in which the item came -- this is important and will help me figure out what happened and make an insurance claim if necessary.
:: How should I care for my pottery? :: Your piece of stoneware pottery is oven- and microwave-safe. It’s also dishwasher-safe, but I recommend giving your piece a little extra love and gently washing your piece by hand instead. Use a cloth to avoid scratching the glaze surface, and don’t let it soak for long periods of time.
Uneven heating or sudden, severe temperature changes can create tension within the molecular structure of the clay piece, which can lead to cracking. In order to avoid this, never use your pottery over direct heat, such as a flame or a burner. Introduce temperature changes gradually. For example, if you’re going to use your pottery in the oven, don’t preheat the oven. Place your pottery in a cool oven and let them come up to temperature together. If you're going to be pouring boiling water for tea into your cup or mug, it's a good idea to pre-warm the cup with some warm/hot tap water first.
Avoid rapping the rim of your piece with a spoon or other utensil, as this can also lead to cracking.

:: Will you package my item as a gift? :: Yes. If you wish to send the item(s) that you’ve purchased as a gift, please notify me that it’s a gift in your “message to seller” at the time of checkout. Make sure that the shipping address is correct for your gift recipient. Unfortunately, the necessary piles of bubble wrap discourage gift-wrapping, but I’ll include in the package a note with your message, and then your gift will be on its way!
