This is a 100% hand crafted blade made in the US. From forge to handle fittings everything has been done by me. The wood is personally picked from my local supplier for the best cuts and my 5160 Steel is personally pulled from vehicles to ensure the best quality springs to work with.
My Chinook Bowie is a personal favorite. It's a classic look with a modern and more ergonomic handle design with a full false edge on top which includes a thumb rest for precision cutting. The Brute De Forge finish accentuates the Wenge and Ebony wood and the brass pins and liners give it a gentleman's touch with a little flare that makes the knife pop.
Specifications in approximation: Overall Length - 11.5in. Blade Length - 6in. Handle Length - 4.5in Blade Thickness - 2/8in. to 1./4in. Weight - 11.oz Steel - 5160 High Carbon Steel Full False Edge Handle Scales - Wenge front and rear bolsters with a ebony wood center. Liners - Brass Pins- Brass Finish - Brute De Forge Sheath - Kydex
SHEATH - This blade comes with a standard Kydex sheath. The belt clip on the sheath can be mounted on either side of the sheath and accepts belts that are 1.75 inches and smaller. The top two fasteners on the sheath can be adjusted to control how much 'pop' or friction there is when the blade is drawn.
NOTE: This blade is made out of is high carbon steel, which means the blade needs to be maintained in order to prevent rust (the patina on the blade does help with corrosion, but does not prevent it). Usually, a quick wipe of oil and its good to go for a while. Also, Kydex sheaths (more specifically the grit that gets inside them) will eventually scratch the finish on the blade. Unfortunately, there is nothing anyone can do to prevent this. However, I have done everything I can to reduce this effect as much as possible. The sheath has a drain on it, so rinsing it out every once in a while is advised.
