In the mid 1980s Salter reproduced their traditional early kitchen scales exactly, from the original cast moulds. The only way you can be sure these aren't 1930s is the gold sticker label which says SALTER The Traditional Scale. It also has the trademark Salter knot moulded onto the centre of the balance.
I had a set of these myself when my (now 31 year old) son was a baby.
They have a traditional brass scale pan and a complete set of 8 cast iron and brass imperial weights. Which are nicely curved and stack beautifully. The brass on this set has aged beautifully and has a warm, almost copper-like patina.
They would make a stylish addition to any kitchen, especially one with a country, shabby chic or vintage look and would make a great gift for any baker.
Complete with full set of 8 x weights; 2 lb, 1 lb, 8 oz, 4 oz in cast iron and 2 oz, 1 oz, ½ oz & ¼ ozin brass.
In EXCELLENT working vintage condition. There is NO RUST and no significant signs of age. There are some minor marks on the brass scoop but nothing which spoils the look or prevents use. Please see ALL photos.
