This listing is for a 33-inch by 23-inch piece of a vintage quilt in an ocean wave or flying geese style pattern that is named "Our Village Green." Details are:
~ The entire piece is shown in the 2nd photo. One edge is a binding edge that has a border. The other three edges are rotary cut.
~ The piece has that lovely old, soft quilt feeling. The fabrics are a wonderful assortment of 1930s and 1940s prints and solids, in a wide range of colors that are especially nice for Spring and Summer. Some of the fabrics appear to be feed sack. The fabrics indicate that this was a "make do" quilt, for which the quilter used whatever fabrics and scraps were available, including pieces of clothing.
~ The solid fabric is creamy white, rather than stark white. The print and solid color fabrics are overall very slightly faded, with a few triangles more faded than others. I found several print triangles with very minor wear, which is hard to see unless you are looking for it.
~ There is the slightest hint of age discoloration over the front and back on the creamy white fabric, but I found no other stains or marks. The piece is very clean and has been freshly hand laundered.
~ The quilt was pieced entirely with hand stitches and quilted at 4 to 6 SPI. The batting is thin cotton that is slightly uneven in spots. The 4th photo points out one place where the batting is a little uneven. Lots of cotton seeds can be seen when the piece is held to the light, and occasionally seeds show through on the front or back as little dark specks.
~ The backing is solid creamy white fabric.
I do my best to accurately describe the condition of fabrics that I list, but please remember that this is a piece from a cutter vintage quilt that was used and may have flaws and blemishes. While I try to mention every flaw I find, it is easy to overlook issues in a piece with so many fabrics and small pieces.
On purchases of multiple items, Etsy calculates combined shipping when purchases are made on the same invoice (all items in a cart at once), but the amount is not always correct. I refund shipping overcharges of more than $1.00 immediately following shipment.
If a buyer wishes to have an order shipped to an address other than the buyer's address, the shipping address must be entered during the checkout process. Specifying a different address by convo or message is not sufficient to permit me to ship to that address. If an address changed is requested, I will refund and cancel the order, and ask the buyer to repurchase using the correct shipping address, in compliance with the Etsy Seller Protection Policy.
I no longer ship internationally to any country. Shipping is to U.S. addresses only.
I accept payment through Paypal via Paypal balance, credit card, or direct bank transfer, or through Etsy payments. I do not accept eCheck payments. I do not offer layaway services or installment payment plans.
Returns & exchanges
I accept returns only if I have made a mistake in the listing or an item otherwise is not as described in the listing, as long as the return is postmarked within 3 business days of receipt and is returned in exactly the same condition as it was received. The buyer must contact me prior to returning any item. Refunds will be issued after the item has been returned.
All of my listings are sold on a first come, first served basis. I do not "hold" or "reserve" items for purchase at a later time.
My prices are the same for everyone. I do not add a cushion to prices to allow for negotiating price or provide for free shipping. I treat all buyers the same and keep my prices as low as possible for everyone, rather than negotiating special prices for individual buyers.
Reviews are a valuable resource for both sellers and buyers. I rely on my reputation to inform new buyers about the quality of my products and level of customer service. If ever there is any kind of concern or issue with a purchase, please contact me prior to leaving a review with less than 5 Stars, so that I may remedy the situation.
I sincerely appreciate my customers who take the time to leave reviews and share their experiences with other Etsy buyers.
