I created this motif to try out some creative stitches. It measures 6” diameter and could potentially be used as anything from a project embellishment to component of a large freeform project. It has enough texture that you could almost say its 3D. Its over 1/2" tall. For this listing I am offering something special - both the pattern and the piece itself. Having the piece in front of you while working allows you to see all the tiny details. Its a great opportunity for someone just learning. Since I cannot offer a digital download and a physical object in the same listing I will do this - I will send a full-color printed copy of the pattern with the item and email a pdf copy of it to the email address on the paypal account used for payment within 2 (usually 1) business day. This will let you get a head start before the piece and printed pattern arrive.
Although an intermediate familiarity with crochet is suggested this would be a great introduction to freeform. I use almost entirely basic stitches but in a slightly unconventional manner. The only advanced stitch is the knurl stitch and I have included a hyperlink to an instructional videos made by another crocheter for that. I also include some general information about freeform and explanations of why I do certain things (tutorial is 10 pgs and includes 25 full-color photos).
I used the following worsted weight yarn available from Hobby Lobby: • I Love This Yarn, 292 Amethyst • I Love This Yarn, 102 Soft Pink • I Love This Yarn, 340 Buttercup • I Love This Yarn, 290 Orchid
The tutorial uses the following hooks: Size F aluminum crochet hook Size G aluminum crochet hook Size H aluminum crochet hook
If you have any questions about the contents of the tutorial please don’t hesitate to message me.
You will automatically be provided with a link to download a pdf of the pattern when your payment clears.
