Six black and white cow water-slide ceramic transfers. These ceramic water transfers were produced to be applied to pre glazed ceramic items and fired in a kiln.
Includes: 2 Large transfers - 3” x 5” -- this size fits nicely on a 6”x6” ceramic tile.
2 Medium transfers - 1 7/8” x 2 7/8”-- this size fits on a 4 1/4” by 4 1/4” ceramic tile
2 Small transfers - 1 5/16” x 1 7/8”
These ceramic water-slide transfers may be applied to ceramic items. The ceramic item should have had the glaze fired on in a kiln. The white on the transfer is transparent and will allow the color of the glaze on the ceramic item to come through. If the transfer has a light color surrounding and over the design it is normally the color of the transfer material upon which the image is printed. This color will disappear when the transfer is fired. The colors of the transfer may be different based upon the temperature of the firing.
APPLICATION AND FIRING OF COLOR WATER-SLIDE TRANSFERS
CLEAN the glazed surface thoroughly.
TRIM as close to the design as possible. Trim the design so there is only one design per paper.
MOISTEN the decal in water, lay face up until the back paper flattens and the decal slides easily.
APPLY the transfer with the backing paper still in position, place the decal on the glazed ware. Hold the transfer in positon and gently slide the backing paper out from under the decal.
SQUEEGEE the transfer gently to smooth out the decal from the center outward to remove excess water, wrinkles and air bubbles. Use a soft, damp cloth, business card or decal squeegee. Do not attempt to sub or apply pressure after the transfer is dry.
DRY the applied transfer by wiping over the entire ware with a slightly damp cloth to remove any surplus residue. Allow the piece to dry a minimum of 24 hours before firing.
FIRE the applied and dried transfer in a kiln at cone .017, .016 or .015.
CAUTION - Do not use transfers on surfaces that come in direct contact with food or drink. Some colors in the transfers may contain lead and or cadmium. Keep decals away from children unless properly supervised. On cups and mugs leave at least 20mm between the top of the rim and the transfer.
