This fantastic piece of vintage silk fabric was found in a sari collection, but it is much heavier than the typical sari - this is more like a heavy shantung. It is handwoven with slightly irregular threads.
The color is a super rich, deep purple, similar to KSU Purple on wikipedia. (The first and second photos are most accurate - the colors are too intense for my camera!) The border is woven on, not printed, and is a similarly saturated saffron color, almost orange. The border is more than 5 inches wide with a 1.25 inch woven gold design. Really unique and wonderful!
Made of silk Measures about 42 inches wide x 3 yards long Condition: slight fading on some old fold lines; two light smudges and a few almost imperceptible dark spots (please see last two photos - though they make it look worse than it is); otherwise excellent.

Returns & exchanges
Due to the random nature of vintage items, returns are not generally accepted. However, we wish for everyone to be delighted! If you are not happy with a purchase, please discuss that with us so that we may remedy the situation.
Please remember that vintage items are not new and often not perfect, and that they have had a long (and, hopefully, interesting!) life of their own before they entered ours.
