Shipping & policies
I ship the same day, or the next day, depending on the day and time the item was ordered (Saturday and Sunday orders will not ship out until the next business day). However, in most cases, weekend orders are still dropped off at the USPS main post office on weekends as the main post office is open late on both Saturday and Sunday).
Shipping can take longer if buyer is waiting on their own shipper to pick up an item from me. If the item was purchased on a weekend it will not start traveling until the following business day. I exclusively use FedEx or USPS (USPS 1st. class for most jewelry, and USPS Ground for fragrances (perfumes). The exception, over-sized or very heavy items (see over-sized and heavy items below). Every item is shipped insured with a tracking number. I also require signature confirmation from a buyer in some situations.
Please be aware, some of these items are on display at a local antique mall and I may not be able to have the item retrieved until the next day -- furthermore, some items may have already sold at the mall without my knowledge - if this occurs, you will receive a prompt refund of your purchase and shipping costs.
***Heavy/Over-sized Items: Unless buyer arranges shipping, I will ship heavy or over-sized items by Greyhound Express. These items will either be boxed or wrapped in large bubble wrap and secured with shrink wrap. Cardboard will be used to protect any vulnerable areas -- all items are insured against damage. I will require the buyer's phone number for this particular shipping method so Greyhound can contact buyer once the item has arrived. I do not ship large or heavy items to Hawaii or Alaska.
Also, it will be the buyer's responsibility to pick up the item at their nearest Greyhound terminal. I've found Greyhound to be the most cost effective way to transport over-sized or heavy items as well as the safest. For an additional cost Greyhound does deliver directly to a physical address in most cases. If buyer would prefer to have the item delivered directly to their home I will get a quote for the additional cost.
***Fragrances travel by USPS Ground and take additional traveling time, up to 14 days in some cases, please keep this in mind when ordering a fragrance.
***Tracking numbers: Please use the tracking number you were provided to track your package. It's the buyer's responsibility to track their own package. Tracking numbers will show the actual date the item was accepted by USPS or FedEx as well as the anticipated delivery date. Anticipated delivery dates are provided by the USPS or FedEx and those dates can change and and result in a delayed package. Delays occur for several reasons such as weather, shortage of carriers or other reasons that are out of the seller's control.
If your package has not arrived by the anticipated delivery date please wait at least an additional 72 hours before assuming the package was lost. Please note: Not all private carriers will have tracking numbers, in that event I will use the carrier phone number in place of a tracking number.
You can track your package by clicking on the tracking number within your Etsy order, or by inputting the tracking number at USPS.com or FedEx.com, again, depending on the carrier that was used. Tracking information is generally updated at the end of each business day, and when a package is scanned and delivered to the recipient. Please note: Not all private carriers will have tracking numbers, in such cases I will use the carrier phone number in place of a tracking number.
I base my shipping costs on the type, size, and weight of an item. Fragrances must travel by USPS Ground - USPS ground shipping is more expensive, please keep that in mind when ordering a fragrance. Clothing, such as coats weigh more, thus, cost a bit more to ship. I do my best to keep shipping costs realistic. If you have any questions about the stated shipping cost please ask before making a purchase.
I do not ship any item over 2 lbs. to a PO box. I also do not ship to APO/FPO boxes.
Both large and small items can be picked up locally if preferred. Shipping will be refunded if you pick up an item.
Shipping fees are set, but I will combine and discount shipping costs on multiple items. Also, if shipping, insurance, and signature confirmation (if applicable), are significantly less I will refund the difference.
Some large and heavy items that cannot travel by FedEx or Greyhound Express are only available for local pickup, items are located either in (Depew, NY or Clarence, NY) -- or buyer pays and arranges for their own freight shipping. Please let me know if you're picking up the item or arranging for your own shipping. I will need your tracking number from your carrier, please email that to me once you have it. No item will be given to your shipper/carrier without a valid tracking number. No shipping of large and/or heavy items to Hawaii or Alaska.
***Shipping on heavy and/or over-sized items: Etsy doesn't have a separate "Pickup Only" option. I've had to put shipping fee's into pick-up only/buyer arranges for shipping. Please contact me before making that purchase so that the shipping charge can be adjusted accordingly.
Disclaimer: I have no control over the Post Office, its carriers, FedEx, nor your or my private/independent carrier. As such, I'm not responsible for any delayed, damaged, or a lost shipment that occurs while the package is in the hands of that carrier (USPS, FedEx, or your/my private/independent shipper).
***Shipping Failure by the USPS or FedEx. Do contact your local Post Office or FedEx, whichever the case may be, and use your provided tracking number to inquire about any shipment delay or issue you have with a package. The package has a better chance of being located at the buyer's end of the shipping chain than the seller's. I will contact the post office approx. 72 hours past the anticipated delivery date. Any shipping failure (lost or damaged package) by the Post Office or FedEx will be refunded only after being verified as lost or damaged (see claims below).
***Claims due to shipping failure/lost item: Etsy requires a 20 day waiting period for claims in the case of a lost package. Therefore, I do not refund for lost packages until 20 days have passed since the ship date. This is to ensure the package is indeed lost and has not merely been delayed at the sorting facility for some unforeseen reason. I will fully refund buyer in such cases only after I have submitted a claim for the lost item.
Shipping Damage/Damage Claims: Inspect your items as soon as they arrive - if your item arrives damaged due to shipping carrier neglect contact me through Etsy conversations immediately, save the packaging, and take pictures -- do not wait several weeks (FYI: Etsy keeps a record of seller and buyer conversations).
Damages or losses due to shipping carrier neglect require both seller and buyer cooperation. Buyer is expected to submit any damage claims directly to the USPS or FedEx, the reason for this is because the buyer will have the damaged item and packaging in their possession and the claim process will go faster.
***I recommend Greyhound Shipping or Uship.com for shipping heavy and over-sized items***
Shipper/shipping carrier/Carrier = USPS, FedEx, Greyhound Express, buyer or sellers Private/Independent Carrier.
***Special Note for large purchased and shipped items, including furniture: If buyer or buyer's assignee is not present for a special delivery, refuses, or fails to take delivery of an item, or the item is undeliverable for any other reason, buyer forfeits 100% of their money -- Absolutely no refund of the item purchase price or shipping charges in this situation for any reason, no exceptions. This means any item shipped by any carrier; USPS, FedEx, UPS, Greyhound, or any other carrier method, including private carrier that was undeliverable due to buyer's negligence. Please keep in touch with seller if any
unforeseen issues arise to avoid this situation.
***Additionally, any package, (see "Special Note" above for large/heavy items including furniture) returned by a shipping carrier (FedEx or USPS) marked as "Undeliverable and/or Refused" because buyer refused the package will result in an automatic 50% restocking fee, and all original shipping fees (including insurance) will be forfeited by the buyer as well.
I use Direct Checkout. I do not have a stand alone PayPal account. If you choose to pay with PayPal please familiarize yourself with Etsy's rules regarding PayPal.
PayPal will never contact me directly, nor will I contact or respond to PayPal if you have an issue, only Etsy will deal with PayPal in this situation.***
Heavy and/or oversized items: You can pay for the item if you're picking the item up from me at the point-of-sale.
****Please note: I no longer sell Gold Jewelry or Diamonds to Etsy users with accounts that are less than 14 days old.
Terms of Sale: Buyer agrees to all shop policies upon purchase, and confirms they have full knowledge they're purchasing a sold "as-is" vintage or antique item that's been well-used. That item that will likely show signs of heavy use and/or wear, especially jewelry as it's worn everyday. Normal, age-related wear includes, but is not limited to, prior/old repairs or other and include: defects/flaws/stains/discolorations/tarnish/dings/scratches from wear and tear, age, and/or workmanship.
Returns & exchanges
No partial refunds for any reason
No cancellations for any reason

Before making a purchase, please keep in mind, the above anomalies (prior/old repairs or other defects/flaws/stains/discoloration/tarnish/dings/scratches) don't appeal to everyone, therefore, vintage or antique items just might not be for you....
Seller is not responsible if a buyer breaks an item that's been handled/worn/used by buyer.
Damage caused by carrier neglect is handled directly through the shipping carrier, please keep all packaging materials in order to submit a claim. In the unlikely event an item arrives damaged it will be the buyer's responsibility to submit a damage claim to the shipping carrier, this makes sense because, you, the buyer, will have the damaged item along with the packaging materials in your possession.
No partial or full refunds on any item USPS or FedEx delivered late. The reason for this is straightforward; I have no control over delivery delays caused by a shipping carrier. If you're buying an item as a gift make sure to purchase well in advance -- although rare, shipping delays/failures by both USPS and FedEx can happen for a plethora of reasons including weather related.
***Refunds only for a lost item/package: Etsy requires a 20 day waiting period for claims in cases of lost USPS packages. This is done to ensure the package has not simply been misdirected or held up at the sorting facility, and is in fact lost. Therefore, I do not refund for lost packages until 20 days have passed since the ship date. A refund will only be processed after a claim has been submitted to Etsy and/or the shipping carrier. I, the seller, will submit the claim in this type of situation.
*** I do not resend or replace items lost by a shipping carrier (USPS or FedEx) due to the fact these are rare one of a kind vintage items, as such a replacement is not available. Therefore, all I can offer in this situation is a full refund. Again, a refund will only be processed after a claim has been submitted to Etsy and/or the shipping carrier. I, the seller, will submit the claim in this type of situation.
Likewise, if a buyer returns an item against shop policy (no returns), there will be a 50% restocking fee incurred and buyer forfeits all original shipping fees.
I'm open to reasonable offers, no layaway, nor do I hold items.
I sell vintage items, made from companies from our distant past, and as such, you will be buying old, well-used, many with defects/ flaws/old repairs, but all well-loved treasures from drawers, closets, basements, and attics!
Some minor defects/flaws/old repairs can and do escape notice, or are considered irrelevant to the overall functionality of the item/piece. Keep in mind, these are just a few of the reasons people prefer vintage items in the first place, if such attributes don't sit well with your tastes, then vintage/antiques might possibly not be for you.
Most of the items I sell are well-used, and nearly every single item will show some form of wear (wear includes a repair), flaw, or prior repair, even faint scratches on a clasp -- all are a naturally expected with vintage/antique items.
Item descriptions: I consider pictures to be part of the description and pictures are enlarged to show details, hallmarks/maker marks, flaws/defects. I state the basic facts of an item from what I can easily visually observe or measure: Length, height, width, size etc.
Clothing: The majority of my clothing has been dry cleaned (except the furs), stored in garment bags and show little wear -- some items may be unworn with tags still attached.
Fragrances: (Parfums, EDT, Colognes, Perfumes): All of my vintage fragrances are authentic and have been stored properly to help prevent evaporation and degradation. No returns are allowed on fragrances due to their delicate nature.
Jewelry: 10K, 14K, and 18K gold, sterling (925), Pearls, semi and precious gems, as well as costume - all are strictly Estate jewelry. All my gold and silver pieces have been thoroughly tested to verify the gold or silver fineness.
Stones are measured within their settings and are approximate. Carat size is estimated as close as possible, I list the stones slightly smaller for this reason, and none of the diamonds are GIA certified.
Vintage and antique gold and silver pieces can and do show, nicks, surface scratches, tiny pits and marks, some of which are due to manufacturing practices of the time, some due to normal wear. Clasps may stick or not line up completely. Stones set a long time ago can loosen more easily or be loose. Some pieces may have had other things attached to them at one time and may contain a mark, hole, or prior repair(s). All common flaws, some of which can be missed on inspection of the piece. However, all of these flaws are expected with vintage items.
None of the jewelry I sell has been repaired while in my possession, nor do I perform repairs. I also don't use a restorer. It's up to the buyer to have any jewelry restored at their own cost.
I do not look for prior repairs to any Vintage/Antique jewelry item that may have occurred in the past as long as the item appears to be in good condition with no outward signs of visible damage. Repairs to vintage/antique jewelry is expected due to the age these pieces. I will only mention a repair if is overtly obvious, or the repair interferes with the overall functionality and/or appearance of the piece, otherwise, the repair will not be mentioned in the item description.
Gram Weight: My pieces are weighed using 2 scales and then compared with another jeweler's scale -- scales that have been inspected by the state of New York.
Diamonds: All my diamonds are from an estate. I state the approx.: carat size, clarity, color, total weight of the piece, size of the piece, and overall condition, along with any identifying marks. Diamond pictures: Diamonds flounce and colors appear different with light fluctuations.
Silver items may show signs of tarnish especially under stones and around weld points. A gentle silver jewelry polish will bring back the shine. Again, I do not consider areas of tarnish to be a defect or damage.
Please note: I do not polish or repair jewelry, or provide certificates or appraisals, nor do I resize rings (you would have to have your own jeweler do any resizing and polishing) -- nearly all vintage gold chains should be cleaned and polished to bring back their shine, please use a reliable professional jeweler for these tasks.
Misc. Vintage/Antique Items: (Furniture, dishes, small collectables, Pictures/artwork, Hummels, etc.): Information such as size, condition, manufacturer, artist, visible damage/flaws will be listed in the description if applicable. Please be aware, some of these items are on display at a local antique mall and I may not be able to retrieve the item until the next day -- furthermore, some items may have already sold at the mall without my knowledge - if this occurs, you will receive a prompt refund of your purchase and shipping costs.
Electrical Items: Do keep in mind that vintage electrical items are fragile (cords, inside wiring, and moving parts), and more prone to breaking due to shaking and rough handling by shipping carriers. I do not guarantee any electrical item for this reason, but if the packaging is clearly damaged upon arrival contact me.
Item Photos: All pictures are considered part of the item description, please view the photo's carefully. I may not list a minor item flaw, defect, or stain in the condition statement if it's clearly visible in one or more photo's.
In my my photo's I try to capture any distinguishing hallmarks, flaws, defects, stains, and/or damage. I photograph the front (w/stone if applicable), inside, side, and back of an item. I try to capture as much detail as possible in the pictures, but it's impossible to get perfect photo details of an item. Again, some flaws/defects can be missed unintentionally.
Extra Pictures and/or Information: If you would like extra pictures or more information about an item please ask. Many of my items are on display at a local antique mall, thus, I many not always be able to provide additional photo's until the following day or two.
Picture colors and screen resolutions vary from monitor to monitor, and lighting can also have an affect on picture image and quality as well. Some photos are enlarged to accurately show item details and hallmarks.
Year of manufacture: If I don't know the exact year an item was manufactured I will do my best to approximate the age of the item as accurately as possible. I cannot make any guarantees in regard to year of manufacture as exact dating can be difficult and sometimes impossible.
Normal, age-related wear includes, but is not limited to, prior/old repairs or other defects/flaws/stains/discolorations/tarnish/dings/scratches from wear and tear, age, and/or workmanship.
I will state in the item description if any item is gold filled or gold plated. At times I may list a vintage designer gold filled piece or a fine quality gold plated item.
Everything is sold "as is", I offer no guarantees of any kind due to the age (fragility) and rarity of these items as they're not modern manufactured products.
All sales are final. No returns. No full or partial refunds. Know what you're purchasing -- if you need additional information about an item ask.
