Item details

I don't often get large pieces of the hand painted silk she uses in her designs, so this is really special. This is silk organza. The base color is like a burnt orange or light rust. It has been hand painted in a random geometric design in a darker rusty brown. I took a picture of the fabric laid out on my floor so you could get an idea of the pattern and color layout. Also draped over my mannequin, so you can see the drape. It is more costly than our usual listings because of the one of a kind textile art. Well worth it, tho for the quality of the fabric and the unique factor!

I am selling this by the yard, but there are 20 extra inches. If you buy ALL THREE yards, I'll throw in the extra inches at no charge. Note that there are 2 other listings of this same fabric, as I have 3 pieces of it. They are all 3 yards plus.

Please don't hesitate to ask for a swatch if you're unsure about this. We also have a generous return policy if it turns out to not meet your needs.

This fabric comes from the studio of well known high end art-to-wear clothing designer. It is clean, without odor and with no rips, holes or tears. She buys only the best quality. Most of the fabrics I offer are not available to buy retail, making them very special and unusual. Our prices are generally wholesale or below for our luxury fabric and the price on these are all a fabulous deal...we are not asking anything near what you might pay retail for these fabrics.

Caveat: I don't always know the fabric content. I've spoken to my designer about this; she doesn't always know either. When she does have the information, she provides it and of course, I include it in the listing. It turns out that exact content is not so important to her or her customers; she just goes by look and feel when she buys. I understand that when buying online one wants to know exactly what they are getting, so I do my best to provide all the information I can. And as mentioned before, I am happy to send swatches if you need to see and feel before buying.

A further request: All of my fabrics are designer fabrics, many are imported from Europe and these are unique fabrics that would not be available to the general public in your local fabric store. For the most part, these are very expensive fabrics, especially when you include the customs and international shipping that she pays to get them here. Our prices are already hugely discounted when you see them. Most of the time, she is taking a loss and I have a very narrow profit margin. We are not in a position to offer further discounts, even for quantity purchases, so please save us both the awkwardness and do not ask. The prices you see on the fabrics are our bottom line prices and you can trust that you will receive a quality fabric, unavailable anywhere else.

I use USPS Priority Mail or First Class Mail for all my shipping. I make every effort to ship within 1 business day of receipt of payment. There is a small markup on shipping to cover the cost of supplies. Additional items (such as yardage) are charged a nominal price; when all is said and done, if shipping has been overpaid, I will issue a reimbursement through whatever form of payment you used. Insurance is optional, but recommended for more expensive purchases. I cannot be responsible for undelivered items -- it is rare that packages become completely lost, but it DOES happen.

International customers: I am happy to ship anywhere in the world. Please understand that the USPS policy, is that once a package leaves our shores, it is out of their control. It has happened that a package is held up in customs for a period of time. There is no way we can control this or track it. It is also possible that your country may charge additional duty fees on incoming products. Again, this is something over which I have no control. Please make yourself aware of your country's regulations and policies.

Please, please do not ask me to send an item to you as a gift in order to avoid paying duty. I run my business with integrity and this is dishonest and I am not comfortable doing this.

Payments

I prefer Paypal or Etsy's direct checkout as payment methods, as these are the easiest and most secure ways to complete a sale and allow me to get your item to you as quickly as possible. Since my Paypal account is a merchant account, you may use a credit card to make your purchases and do not even need a Paypal account. I have in the past accepted money orders and at times even personal checks, but due to some past difficulties, I would prefer to stick to credit card or other electronic payments. PLEASE DO NOT REQUEST MY BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION OR OFFER TO PAY VIA WESTERN UNION. THESE FORMS OF PAYMENT ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBT, PLEASE CONTACT ME TO DISCUSS PAYMENT BEFORE MAKING YOUR PURCHASE.

Returns & exchanges

I want my customers to be happy! If you are unhappy in any way with your purchase from me, please drop me a line and let me know why and what I can do to make it right. In most cases, I will accept returns with a full refund, minus shipping fees. Unless it was totally my fault, in which case I will also refund the shipping fees.

Additional policies

One of my favorite words is "Integrity." It is my intention to conduct my business with complete integrity. This means that I will honestly reveal any defects; if I don't, it just means I missed it -- it doesn't mean I was trying to pull a fast one on you. I conduct my business with honesty and fairness with a goal of creating happy customers who will return to my shop again and again and maybe even become friends! After all, what are friends, but strangers you haven't met yet?
