The Ulu is a multi-purpose knife used by the Inuit, Yapkit, and Aleut. The ulu is the ultimate tool for any modern kitchen. Its diversity is what makes an ulu genuinely unique. Use the ulu for chopping, slicing, skinning, and even as a weapon.
Our ulu is genuinely Alaskan. It is high-speed steel hand forged from a giant saw blade in Alaska. The handle is ironwood taken from a very old wooden commercial fishing boat, FV Chief Seattle, which sank in Cross Sound in Southeast Alaska holding a 1000 black cod fish back in 1985. The crew managed to escape unharmed.
The blade is 5 inches wide, and the ulu is 4 inches tall overall. Its finish and scalloped edge. This knife is one of a kind intentionally made to look rustic to capture the Alaskan spirit.
