Beginners Shibori and Indigo workshop Come along and learn to dye with Indigo and create unique patterns using Shibori techniques - The ancient Japanese art of resist dyeing.
Workshop date and location: Saturday, 21st July 1-5pm 2018 Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire. ( 7 minute cab ride from Harpenden station - 30 mins from St.Pancras, London)
1-5pm pm at my home studio and garden. Blank cotton or silk scarf included. Tea, coffee and cake break.
Over the 4 hour workshop I will teach you the basics for binding stitching and clamping to create beautiful one of a kind patterns. You will get to grips with the basics, meet some like minded pattern lovers. Discover the magic of dyeing with Indigo. Have great chats and laughs.
By the end of the workshop you will; - be able to create your owns patterns - Have an understanding of the indigo vat - Some knowledge and background history on indigo throughout the world.
You will need to bring: - Rubber gloves - Wear old clothes and shoes you aren't precious about getting splashed with Indigo. - Plastic bag to carry any cloth home that hasn't completely dried.
Please feel free to bring along some scarp fabrics (cottons,silks, linen, hemp etc) to up cycle into some fabulous.
