The Square Explosion Quilt is a simple design of squares exploding from the center square to the corners. This pattern may look advanced, but is geared towards beginners who want to step out of the box. The pattern uses strip piecing when possible to save time and fabric. There are ample photographs, as well as more photographs available upon request for those who want a more visual approach. The pattern also includes grids that make it easy to tell at a glance if you are assembling the quilt correctly. Two border options are offered - a mitered border that repeats the center of the quilt (as pictured), melting into itself at the corners to create a brilliant optical effect or a border of the five-fabric squares for those who want less movement in their completed project. The directions for the mitered border are easy-to-follow and are perfect for beginners who would like to try this technique. Options are offered for a lap-robe size, or the quilt, which finishes at 95 inches square. I can provide alternate size instructions for those who are interested, just send me a message and I will be happy to work with you!
