This listing is for ONE (1) yard of early 20th Century bead trim. There are FIVE (5) yards available.
The combination of red and black is stunning. The beads are all glass. The red rectangular beads measure 1/4" long by 1/8" wide. There are three kinds of black beads - bugle, shiny black seed and black seed beads with a little luster. I can just see an Edwardian gown made with this trim. I am uncertain of exactly the age of the trim, but I would date it to the first half of the 20th Century. As far as I can tell, this has never been used; i.e., it was not taken off of a garment.
On the roll, this trim is 1 & 1/4" wide. The beadwork is attached to netting. When stretched out the trim is 1 & 5/8" wide.
I will cut the yardage as it is ordered. If you want 5 yards, and you are the first to order, you will get 5 uncut yards.
This trim is in very good, original vintage condition. There are a few loose threads, but no loose beads. They all appear to be very solid. My pictures are a big part of my description. Please be sure to view them all so you have a good idea what you are considering. I have given measurements for the different design elements in this trim. I hope this will help in your decision. I see no flaws to mention.
Yardage of old beadwork trim is hard to find. This is your chance to buy 5 yards to enhance a special project. This would work well for costume design. The red and black combination is really nice.
