Shinmoedake is a large volcano on Japan's southernmost main island of Kyushu. Famous for being part of a James Bond movie, this volcano recently erupted. There was a stunning picture of the volcanic ash being spewed from a fiery crater surrounded by dark gray lava. I was so awestruck by the picture that I dyed these locks to represent what I saw in that picture. I added the picture here to show you exactly what I saw at that moment.
These are kid mohair locks. So shiny and so soft, they seem like a complete opposite in texture to that of Shinmoedake. However, the colors are stunning! I just want to hold them and squish them in my hands all day! Perfect for spinning, these will make lovely yarn for a beautiful, soft cowl, necklace, or whatever your imagination desires.
