AAA Tanzanite gemstone mined in the 1990's from Block D. This is obvious in the exceptionally deep and vivid color of the gemstone.
The stone's clarity has been graded as VVS which is merely one grade below internally flawless and PERFECT! The cut is good which adds a premium to the price of the gemstone.
It exhibits the optical effect of "pleochroism" in that it shows the beautiful deep blue but when tilted in the light will show the violet and purple tones, a sign of a high quality tanzanite gemstone.
Since the mines have essentially dried up in Tanzania, the only thing being pulled out of the ground nowadays is very pale, highly included and poor quality. Geologists predict that there is less than a one in a million chance of EVER finding another source of tanzanite (blue zoisite) on the planet. This will undoubtedly cause the price per carat of all grades of tanzanite to skyrocket in the future. Even the poor quality specimens will rise as time goes by.
Tanzanite is known as "the generational gemstone" and a "geological phenomenon" and will quickly become heirloom pieces as the supply dwindles and the demand rises for the older high end deep color perfect clarity gemstones. And the higher the carat weight for individual gemstones will result in the value and prices of tanzanite to exponentially rise on a PER carat basis. It is estimated that in ten years time, older Block D and AAA/AAA+ specimens can sell for $10,000 or more on a PER carat basis.
This beautiful gemstone comes not only with a gemstone report discussing all of the stone's characteristics, but also comes with a gemstone appraisal that was done back on September 12, 2012. This stone's value has markedly increased since that time and is sure to be worth much more than the appraised value of $2420.00 performed in September, 2012. I suggest that the first thing you do if you purchase this stone is to update the appraisal since several years have gone by since its original appraisal date.
If you have any questions regarding this stunning gemstone, please do not hesitate to contact me. I have nearly four decades of experience evaluating, examining and handling all grades of tanzanite and would be more than happy to share my knowledge with you.

All items purchased from my shop carry a 30 day warranty. Any item found to be damaged within 30 days of original receipt date will either be replaced (if possible) or a refund given for the full purchase price including shipping costs. PLEASE NOTE: Items that are deemed to be damaged by improper handling or cleaning on the part of the purchaser are not covered under this warranty. It is highly advised that you inspect your gemstone or jewelry piece very carefully immediately upon receipt because after the thirty day warranty period expires from the original receipt date, I cannot issue any refunds or exchanges for any purchase of any kind. This is in part due to the large number of attempted scams that force me to strictly adhere to this policy. I have included some tips and pointers below to aid you in taking better care of your merchandise and specific cleaning techniques to help minimize potential damage occurring to your jewelry or gems. Many of my gemstone jewelry items can be fragile if not protected from knocks and bumps due to their hardness scores on the Moh's scale. Care must be taken by the buyer to protect against damage especially rings as they are the type of jewelry most susceptible to damage and softer, more brittle gemstones, for example, opals and gemstones with lower Moh's numbers. Care must also be taken when cleaning certain gemstones. Never use ANY harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaning on ANY items purchased from my shop. Using plain mild soap and warm water with an ultra soft toothbrush is the best cleaning method. This will help avoid damage to the gemstones used in creating some of my jewelry items and the gemstones themselves. If you have any additional questions on how to take care of and protect your specific gemstone or jewelry piece, please do not hesitate to contact me. I would be more than happy to share my knowledge with you. ENJOY YOUR PURCHASE!!!!
