Made from cherry, this tool is used by Circular Sock Machine (CSM) users and hand knitters to knit the toe area of socks by running the needles over the curved surface of the jack to bring the strands of wool together. The jack has two different sized bulbs: 3" and 2 1/2" to accommodate different sock sizes. About 10" long. Finished with multiple coats of wipe-on polyurethane and polished to a high shine. Normally, this type of finish will protect an item for many years without needing a re-coat, however, the coating on the jack may wear faster depending on the degree of use the jack gets. Should it be necessary to touch up the surface, a light sanding with 320 sandpaper should be done and one or two coats of polyurethane reapplied. Toe jacks are also available on special order in some exotic woods such as Purpleheart and Paduck. Toe Jacks from these other woods are priced at the time of ordering because of the differences in the costs of the different woods so please identify the type of wood desired before placing an order. Due to the wide variations in shipping costs depending on the destination, costs are estimates only. If you live in the US, please indicate your zip code prior to placing an order or, if you live outside North America, please indicate the city and country where you live so that more accurate shipping costs can be determined.
