Check out this stunning Valentino design! The ties and seams are gorgeous. Can you believe there are no side seams breaking up the perfectly balanced design? This style would be flattering on all body types and would generate tons of compliments. This is highly recognizable as an original Valentino design.
This design would work well for wearing to work, attending a holiday party or wedding, an evening out on the town, a Mother's Day brunch, a graduation, a birthday party or other special occasion. It could also go to religious gatherings or bridal/baby showers. It is modest, yet elegant and sophisticated.
From the pattern envelope: "Misses' One-Piece Dress. High-fitting A-line dress with round neckline and seven-eighths length sleeves. Front and back inset bands tie at side front (No side seams)."
This pattern was showcased in the Vogue International Pattern Book for June/July 1970 and in the Vogue International Pattern Book for December 1970/January 1971. The caption below the photograph reads: "Valentino Original Photographed in Rome."
Suggested fabrics: soft or crisp fabrics such as crepe, wool jersey, knits, lightweight wool, linen, satin and silk and worsted.
**Bonus: Cloth World receipt dated August 22, 1973 inside. This increases the value for a true collector. Plus, it is fun to reflect on a time when sales tax was under 5%.

This item is an original vintage sewing pattern. I am not an expert pattern dater, but most sources assert that this pattern is from 1970 (though I found one source stating it is from 1969). This vintage sewing pattern does not include a finished garment, notions, fabric or a fabric label.
