Double Vision is a stunning afghan. It appears to have 55 different shades though it only uses 10 ordinary, easily available colours.
The afghan you see in the photos was made in DK (Double Knitting) yarns. In theory, you can use any yarn of your choice but,in reality, yarns heavier than DK would make the afghan uncomfortably heavy. You could make a floor rug instead, if you wish to use heavier yarns.
We once exhibited Double Vision in a chapel, between two stained glass windows. It outshone the windows!
This pattern seems to inspire people to create their own varitions. We have seen several, including a crochet version worked in a range of pastel colours for a baby.
You could also make a small section of the afghan to use as a cushion.
It is not a conventional knitting pattern. If you can knit garter stitch you can make this. You do not have to be able to follow a normal knitting pattern as the instructions are in simple words. It is suitable for beginners and experienced knitters. You do not have to work to a particular gauge.
The instructions include a colouring sheet so you can try out your own colour choices.
This is just one of a large collection of afghan designs. Look out for more.
