This lovely reproduction Ball Ideal Mason Jar mimics the bicentennial design made in 1975. It has a retro Ball logo, a wire closure and seal, and an eagle on one side as well as the phrase "not for home canning" along the bottom of one side. It's a lovely dark teal color - much brighter than the original pieces, making it a wonderful decorative and storage item.
I filled it with vintage sewing notions: a box of Hand-I-Packet Mercerized Mending Cotton thread with 9 of the ten balls included, two antique wooden spools, three antique/vintage thimbles, a vintage mother of pearl buckle, and loads of buttons. (The buttons are mostly white, mother of pearl, or cream colored, but there are a few metal and colored ones as well.)
The jar measures around 7.75 inches tall. The jar itself is in new condition. The sewing notions are in very good vintage condition with the exception of one antique thimble that has developed small holes due to use and age. The box holding the thread has some tears, but the thread inside is in very good condition.
