3 pieces of dried manzanita branches for Terrariums and aquariums or could be use for bird or reptile habitat. Can also be used for DIY craft projects, jewelry making, fairy gardens..
Manzanita is the perfect wood for an aquarium it looks beautiful, provides habitat, resists decay, and is not chemically toxic. The ability to sink without being weighted is another characteristic of Manzanita. It is an exotic hardwood being one of the densest woods in the world that can last for decades even under water.
It is highly recommended that you first soak or boil any new piece of driftwood before putting it in your aquarium.
I clean my wood by hand washing it in plain water using a stiff brush and then hand sanding. I prefer this over the alternative method of sandblasting as it doesn’t strip the wood as much. I never treat the wood with any type of product so all my pieces are always 100% natural.
All my Manzanita comes from the mountains of Southern California. I am fortunate to have it growing in abundance where I live. I only pick up dead pieces and ones that are in my opinion special due to having a unique quality.
