The Original Wingspan Pattern, first published on Ravelry in April 2011.
This pattern listing is for residents of the European Union only. If you live elsewhere please use my listing for non-EU residents.
Once I have received your payment I will email you the PDF for the pattern. If you wish me to email somewhere other than your registered Etsy email please leave a note. I check my emails multiple times daily so you will not have to wait long for your pattern. The reason I am doing it this way is because within the EU VAT is payable on digital downloads but not if I email you the pattern. Charging and paying VAT is beyond my capability since each country has a different rate and processes. I hope you will be tolerant towards this slightly clumsy way of working - plus you get the pattern cheaper.
The pattern has been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times, tens of thousands of Wingspans have been made. You can see pictures of over 10,000 projects on Ravelry :https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/wingspan-2/people
It is a popular pattern because it is so easy to knit, requires only 100g - 200g of yarn (depending on the options you pick) and gives spectacular results for your effort.
The pattern contains instructions for both fingering weight and worsted weight yarn though any weight of yarn could be used. It looks particularly effective in long colour change yarns such as Kauni Effectgarn, Noro Kureyon, Mini Mochi etc and only requires 150g of fingering or 200g of worsted weight yarn for a good sized shawl and less for a scarf or shoulder shawl.
The shawl is knit entirely in garter stitch and shaped with short rows (explained in the instructions) it is simple enough for an adventurous beginner.
Buy now and start knitting immediatedly, in a few days you will have something fabulous to wear or gift.
