A unique series from me, these worry stone beads are made in a natural stone like shape. They are made with dichroic glass for stunning sparkle. This bead is signed MWR by the core.
This bead measures approximately 12.5mm in diameter and 8.5mm wide measured at its tallest point. The bead hole measures approximately 4.4 mm in diameter.
The bracelet in the photos is shown for illustrative purposes and is not included in the auction. Please note that colors can still vary somewhat on different computer monitors. The photos are enlarged to show the bead's detail, so please note the actual size listed in the description.
My beads are made in the flame of a torch through a process called lampwork. The glass is melted and wrapped around a thick wire and the beads are formed inside out. I use many different techniques to achieve details including pulling the glass into hair thin pieces to "draw" or "paint" on the bead. Some of my designs are encased for depth and dimension. Most of the glass I use is murano glass, produced in Italy. The majority of my pieces incorporate dichroic glass which has the magical effect of making the beads sparkle, glow or appear to have their own source of light.
When the beads are completed they are placed directly in the kiln where they are kept hot and then slowly cooled for strength and durability. My designs are always changing and I'm always experimenting with new techniques and types of glass. Though I have a few signature designs most of my designs change and evolve over time, resulting in beads that are truly unique. For this reason I do not have a catalog.
