My Registered Icelandic ewe Lydia's Spring 2018 fleece. This fleece weighs 4 pounds 4 ounces and is clean and soft. Cost is $12 per pound. Lydia is a cream and brown sheep. Icelandic wool is double coated. It has a longer, courser outer coat of tog and a shorter, softer undercoat of thel. See photos. Some of them show the "cut side" of the fleece so you can see that Lydia really is spotted. It is hard to tell from looking at her. This fleece is mostly in one piece, and may make a good "faux sheepskin". When blended, it should be good for weaving, knitting of outerwear objects, or felting. The fleece has been "skirted" to remove manure tags and obvious vegetable matter. Overall, it is a very clean fleece.
