**100% Colorado Alpaca Yarn from Responsible Farms** BUY DIRECTLY FROM THE ALPACA FARMER. All of our products are from our own animals or our friends' farms in Northern Colorado. We care about our animals and know them all by name - we believe you should too! Our yarns come with information about the animal's name, breed, and location. Your finished piece that you knit, crochet, weave, etc. will tell a story. We believe that knowing the animal who provided the fiber is an important part of that story.
This beautiful handdyed alpaca yarn is a combination of E’Clipse, a white Suri alpaca, and Puka, a white Huacaya alpaca. The yarn has a soft, drapey quality that makes it perfect for a shawl. The handdyed colors are mauve and fawn. The 2-ply yarn measures 250 yards and weighs about 115 grams. This is a handdyed lot so you probably want to order more than one if you think you will need additional. It can be difficult to perfectly color match at a later time.
A little bit more about the animals. E'Clipse and Puka are both from a beautiful 35 acre farm in the Rocky Mountains outside of Fort Collins, Colorado. They enjoy clean mountain air and a pesticide-free environment. After shearing their fleece, we then clean the fiber and process with our friends at a Colorado mill who spin the yarn into a 2-ply fingering weight. Lastly, I personally dye the fiber to ensure balanced colors, maintain the integrity of the yarn, and use environmentally friendly dying practices. Each part of our process involves a small business/farm in Colorado bringing you a fully MADE IN AMERICA product and Colorado Proud participant.
