Spotted frolic - lampwork glass beads handmade by Rebecca Weddell
A set of five lampwork glass beads in bright bright colours! All sport randomly-sized dots in opaque yellow arranged haphazardly (I love that word!) for added vigour - they're great fun!
The centre bead is wound from orange glass; two are made from red glass and two from blue. They are arranged in tapering size order, with the centre bead being the largest, at 15mm in diameter and 12.5mm from hole to hole. The smallest bead is 14.5mm in diameter and 10.5mm from hole to hole.
These beads were made on 1.6mm mandrels, and have been kiln-annealed for lasting strength. Measurements are approximate.
Each bead is unique, having been made one by one at the torch flame in my hot-glass workshop in rural East Sussex. To find out more about the captivating craft of lampwork glass beadmaking, visit www.letfireinspire.co.uk
