This is a very versatile piece. It is simple enough that it works well in more elaborate designs. It is bold enough to stand out as a focal when worn solo on a chain or cord.
It is made from white stoneware clay that is kiln fired to the bisque state. It is then hand painted with glaze and re-fired up to three more times depending on the finish. Afterwards, it is then put into an electroforming tank and parts are plated with pure copper. Finally, on to be tumbled with stainless steel shot to burnish and shine the copper.
The copper is left bare to allow you to apply any patina, sealant, or color effects you desire. If left untreated it will acquire a natural patina over time, similar to the warm color of an old penny.
Every bead is handmade individually by me in my home studio.
Due to the nature of handmade ceramic, all bead sizes are approximate. I try my hardest to ensure that bead sets vary in size by no more than 0.5 mm.
Pairs will be matched as closely as possible and will not vary by more than 0.2 mm.
