Item details

An Authentic Victorian / Dickensian Era Baby Bonnet Irish Crochet Pattern originally published in 1908!

This listing is for the PDF pattern only, not for the finished item. Great for historical village reenactors, opera, stage and theater costumers, students of historical fabric arts and those who JUST LOVE TO WEAR A TOTALLY UNIQUE, ONE-OF-A-KIND ACCESSORY!

A very Victorian era crocheted Baby Bonnet pattern!

Great for baby showers, baptisms, birthday, Christianing, Christmas gifts and much, much, more!

The pattern is reproduced via very time consuming scanning, with the woodcuts, metal engravings, photos and text being restored for optimal reading and saved in PDF format to share with history buffs everywhere!

I literally have a house full of my collection of antique books and magazines from the mid-1800s to the 1960s. I'll never live long enough to share them all but I strive to list fresh-to-you, rare Antebellum, Civil War, Victorian, Edwardian, Gibson Girl, WWI, Flapper, Depression, WWII and Hippy era clothing pattern republications here!

An excerpt:
"With the exception of the beading and the band of Bead stitch around the front, the bonnet is worked in single crochet in fine pink yarn. Narrow ribbon the same shade as the yarn is run through the beading around the crown and finished with a rosette at each side, and wider ribbon is uised in the beading around neck and for ties. If desired the bonnet may be lined either with crepe or silk of the same Saxola 2-ply Fingering Yarn, 1 oz. Pink No. 20. One No. 3 bone Crochet Hook."

INCLUDED is our authentic Victorian era yarn, hook/needle conversion charts so you know exactly which type of modern yarns and hooks/needles to use!!!
