Know where your yarn comes from! where your color comes from too!
Fabulous rambouillet yarn that is so cozy and soft. This yarn was made with our own wool plus wool sourced from other small farms. We remain committed to sourcing local and from small farmers. We do not purchase imported wool or yarn. All the wool we use in our yarns is hand selected. We think knowing where your yarn comes from is as important as knowing where your food comes from. This rambouillet has an average micron of 20.
This wool is incredibly soft. Our yarns are minimally processed with environmentally friendly wool scour. No harsh chemicals or artificial softeners are used. Our wool still feels like wool. This is a yarn you can happily wear close to your skin. Knit something beautiful with it. For garment longevity wash in cool water with a neutral Ph soap and lay flat to dry.
We use only natural dyes on our yarns and grow many dye plants on the farm. This yarn was dyed with logwood (Haematoxylum campechianum), a tropical tree if the Caribbean and Central America. Our logwood is sourced sustainably. Natural colors all harmonize well together and will mature over time. Items properly dyed will retain beautiful color. We dye only with materials that we know create lasting color. These skeins are woolen spun at Green Mountain Smittspinnery in Vermont.
