Item details

Great sense of movement... would be an eyecatcher as that one button fastening an asymmetric shirt or sweater.

It takes careful glazing and more than one coat to get just the right amount on each small design element... and see it stay put through the end of the firing. Patience and a steady hand.

Approximately 1-3/8"
Beveled holes and polished backs: edges that won't cut your fibers, surfaces that won't pill.

Handmade black basaltic (volcanic glass) stoneware.

Clean smooth and signed on the reverse.

Completed in one firing, significantly reducing the fuel normally used to make ceramic items.

All of my buttons are individually handmade. There are subtle variations in shape, color and design, befitting handmade work.

Additional policies

I occasionally, and reluctantly, do custom work. My schedule & the need to complete an entire kiln-load of work before I can fire your order, leave me happy to do what I do best: original, nearly one-of-kind items on my own schedule (I know my limits!). If you must have it, can wait patiently and enjoy persuading reluctant artists, have a try ;)
