Item details

This colorful pen is made of birch that has been dyed and laminated (no paint to peel) and flame maple. As I was sanding it, the blue dye stuck to the softer parts of the maple and brought out the flame aspects of the grain so I decided to keep it. It's very subtle. It has a thick comfortable grip and a smooth lacquer finish. The finial is made of the same matching birch in a striped pattern.

The flange is made of hand formed stainless steel that will hold a number of popular sizes of nibs. The metal is stiffer than brass so you might want to use this as a dedicated holder to one size of nib rather than switching from small nibs (ef66) to a giant falcon nib. I have it set for a Hiro 41 nib (included) but I can change the curvature for you if you prefer a larger G nib or that vintage falcon. Just let me know in the comments.

Length: 7.75"
Width at finger grip: 0.5"
Width at widest point of grip: 0.625"
Tail: 0.1875"

This one-of-a-kind pen holder will stand out in your pen collection. Tell your friends it was made by ErikanXpressions.

FAQs

I am not currently taking any custom orders. Feel free to make suggestions of what you would like to see in my shop but if you have design or time restrictions, I'm not able to take them right now.

Never leave a wood pen to soak in water. Wipe it off with a damp cloth and dry it well. Also avoid using cleaning products with ammonia which can damage the finish of the pen. When you dip the pen in ink, only allow the nib to submerse in the ink and not the entire flange. If ink dries inside the flange, it can be hard to remove the nib. Keep your custom pen out of direct sunlight and treat it with care.
