Item details

This pen has a cosmetic flaw so I am offering it at a lower price. It had a knot hole on the under side of the grip but it doesn't affect the ability to write beautiful calligraphy. It took a lot of engineering to make the sections so I hate to let it go unused. It's made of birch that has been dyed purple and green and laminated into stripes. The grip and finial are made of flame maple. It's a long and classic style pen that is comfy to write with and will still look good in pictures.

The flange is made of hand formed tin and is set at a slightly upward angle for ease in making smooth upstrokes and flourishes. Tin metal is slightly softer than brass which makes it easier to adjust to different curvatures for different nibs without tools. The pen comes ready to write with a Hiro 41 nib included.

Length: 8.5"
Width at finger grip: 0.4375"
Width at widest point of grip: 0.625"
Width of tail: 0.1875"

This unique "rescue" pen would love to be a part of your pen collection.

FAQs

I am not currently taking any custom orders. Feel free to make suggestions of what you would like to see in my shop but if you have design or time restrictions, I'm not able to take them right now.

Never leave a wood pen to soak in water. Wipe it off with a damp cloth and dry it well. Also avoid using cleaning products with ammonia which can damage the finish of the pen. When you dip the pen in ink, only allow the nib to submerse in the ink and not the entire flange. If ink dries inside the flange, it can be hard to remove the nib. Keep your custom pen out of direct sunlight and treat it with care.
