Knit our easy reindeer baby booties, with our instant download knitting pattern PDF. An ideal new knitter pattern, it includes sizes 0-3; 3-6; 6-9; 9-12 and 12-18 months..
We’ve made many, many pairs of these reindeer baby booties, and they’ve flown all over the world, but we decided that it’s now time we let you have a go! So we’ve written out the pattern, and here it is ready for you to download…
What better to keep out the winter chills than these oh so cute little reindeer slippers! Knitted entirely in garter stitch (knit stitch), the slippers use only basic techniques, including:
Cast on Knit stitch Increase (kfb – knit into the front and back of the stitch) Decrease (k2tog – knit 2 together, and k2tog, tbl – knit 2 together through back loop) Cast off
This really is a great pattern for new knitters because it uses all of the basic knitting techniques, so if you can cast on, and knit, pick up those needles, and get cracking! Once you’ve done a couple of increases, you’ll be away. And if you get stuck? Fret not, just get in touch, and we’ll lend a helping hand.
To knit the booties as in the main photo, you’ll need between 1 and 2 x 50g Balls of Debbie Bliss Cashmerino* in Camel, 1 x 50g ball in Chocolate, and teeny bits of Russet. You’ll also need a pair of 4mm knitting needles, a stitch holder (or safety pin) and a sewing up needle.
To buy ready made, see our separate listing.
*You can also use DROPS Lima to knit these, which is a lovely alpaca and wool yarn from our favourite yarn brand.
