This is a late 19th-century (circa 1880) Victorian English small double folding knifeReal mother of pearl panels on both sides. Original high carbon antique steel blades.The blades are still thick and strong (not flimsy).The blades latching on at 90° and then 180° and have a good snap to them. Free from personal inscriptions or monograms.Carbon steel, which unlike stainless steel, can be ground to a very sharp cutting edge. Early/antique folding knives were made using carbon steel.DIMENSION: Length : CLOSED 5cm (2"). OPEN 11.4cm (4 1/2") approx.WEIGHT: 13gCONDITION: Larger blade bends slightly and has a slight wobble.
