Vintage Quilt Squares huge lot 2 lbs (estimate 390 pieces) 6 x 6 PATCHWORK PROJECTS 1976 S H Kunin Felt Co 50/50 Poly Cotton Calico Brown Gold Pink Green Florals.
This is a large lot of pre-cut 50% poly, 50% cotton quilt squares. Never used and stored in ziplock bags. These precut fabric squares were originally sold in individual quilting kits packages called PatchWork Projects produced in 1976 by S.H. Kunin Felt Co. Worcester Ma. They have pinked ( zig zag) cut edges.
It is likely they were sold in small packages by color and or pattern.
According to instruction booklets ( two are included) it required 7 packages to make a twin quilt. However, it does not indicate how many squares were in each package. The only note that may indicate quantity is that there were 24 patterns sold in each package. That could mean 24 different prints or 24 pieces???
The entire stack of fabric is approximately 4 1/4 inches tall. The squares weigh 1 lbs and 14 ounces. 0r a total 30 ounces. 13 squares weigh 1 ounce. So estimate of 390 squares in this lot - 30 x 13.
Fabric is also the popular colors, florals and patterns and calico of the 1970's period, especially the yellow and brown calico combinations with matching solid cocoa brown and sunflower yellow squares. There are pink micro polka dots, yellow floral, blue roses, red calico, brown floral, green shades.
The instructions provide detail on making a beginner quilt, a patchwork pillow, and even a patchwork tennis racket cover!
Fun for children's crafts, beginning quilters and more!
