These embroidery transfer pattern are ones that have been in storage from my mother's box of 'stashed patterns'. They are embroidery transfers . McCalls: Orchids #1213 McCalls: Motifs, dresses and blouses #1140 McCalls: Gay Kitchen #1212 McCalls: Motifs, runners #856
These were a complete surprise to me today when I started photographing the patterns. Don't remember ever seeing them before. They're cool. She never shared them with me. ***It is interesting - I do remember one of her very favorite paintings that she did of a purple orchid. It may very well be the one from this pattern.
Over the past almost 60+ years they have been stored in many homes and various environments - pet environments and previously smoking environment. They have been sealed in the pattern storage box forever and in a closed closet for the past 6 years.
As with all the patterns I have dug-out to present, I think these may have been used. It appears that mom may have used one of the transfers, but they look fine. We are methodical about putting all the pieces back into their respective envelopes . I have not gone back through them all, however, to assure that absolutely every piece is included.
My goal is to 're-home them' so that they can hopefully be used for continuing teaching tools of for making gifts for other people. They have great memories tied-in with them.
