4 yards Indigo blue traditional Guatemalan textile with Ikat design and randa embroidery | 100% hand loomed vintage cotton fabric
This beautiful indigo blue vintage textile comes from highlands of Guatemala where originally it was worn as skirt, or corte by Mayan women, wrapped around the waist several times. The textile is assembled of two cotton panels, joined by decorative randa seam (pic. #7) and sewn together at the ends (making a loop).
The mid-weight fabric was hand woven on treadle looms and is strong, so would be suitable for upholstery projects, would make a great beach blanket, picnic throw or even a table cloth, bed cover or fabric for decorative pillows. Let your imagination fly....
Size: 12 ft x 2.9 ft | 145" x 35" | 3.7 m x 89 cm, sewn together at the ends (making a loop).
Condition: Very good vintage condition, bright color. Few loose threads on randa seam (please see last picture).
