These are some of my favorite colors!!! And Nucifera is part of the name for the beautiful pink pond lilies! Nelumbo nucifera is the full name, I believe;)
Light on the air as ether, but dangerously intense in color, these hand dyed silk hankies saturated with light fast color! Each layer is easily separated and just as easily spun on any spindle or wheel. Almost magically warm with how fairy light these are!
I also do whatever it takes to get the right colors on my screen and while they may differ slightly, there is no question of the color in all the layers. No white spots, and definitely as intended. Of course there are happy accidents, but white spots are not allowed... The dyes have had time to completely be absorbed or exhaust entirely and they have been rinsed to clear water.
This particular Nucifera is a little over 5g of silk hankies for spinning (or drafting into a light as air roving to knit or crochet as is!!!) on your spinner's tongue... please don't eat it... I assume that can go unsaid, but eh... just in case;) There is a lot of fiber here and people are often fooled by the seemingly 'small' amount listed.
**I can make these to order and get the colors fairly close in larger batches if you desire more. Just convo me and we'll figure it all out;)**
AND as a spinner, I tend to have a short attention span... I like to start and stop various batts, rovings, caps, hankies, and everything else... You do too, admit it! Lol!
I've used these hankies to spin embroidery thread, lace weight, fingering, and pulled them into pieces to add an extra 'pop' of color, added strength to slippery fibers, and an extra interesting aspect to my art yarns as I'm spinning on both my wheels and spindles!
I used to sell silk caps, but I'm forever done with those as they seem impossibly difficult compared to these in drafting and getting the exact yarn or roving I want. (You can check back at almost the beginning of my sales if you'd like to see examples of my earlier work.)
These are created in a newly constructed, smoke free, pet free, and amazing studio in an urban cottage;) And will ship for free with another item!
XO... You're going to love it;) And I have a hard time not including little samples of other color ways, so sorry, but you'll get at least one with each ordered item of spinning fiber;) Hugs!!!
BTW: I will send these folded, but flat and organized. (I have been noticing that the mawata sometimes have a different distribution of silk fibers across the squares... and recently, the squares have become rather round... but either way, they're still the same gorgeous silk!!!) They just get all puffed and tarted up for pictures, and it actually makes them easier to separate into layers when you get them as well;)
I ship through USPS within 3 days of receipt of payment. Usually a Monday/Wed/Friday thing as it would get costly to keep driving to the PO every day :) However, if you're like me and hold your breath by the mailbox when waiting for your packages to arrive, let me know :) I don't want any crafty crafters passing out by their mailboxes from lack of oxygen! ALSO::: I ship first class to save you money. If you would like insurance on your items, please convo me and I'll send you a revised invoice. Otherwise, I will always do whatever I can to help you find your packages and/or establish their where-abouts, but it is the USPS, so I'm not responsible for lost packages--so far, though, we haven't had a single one! I do ship outside the states to just about everywhere! And I only charge actual shipping costs! Just convo after completing your purchase and I'll convo a shipping charge to you :)
If you have a question, let's have a conversation and I'll answer almost immediately :) I expect payment inside of four days of purchase if mailing payment, same day if using Paypal.
