Up for sale is an embroidery kit to create the Joanna Elenwood Sampler from the Textile Collection of the Margaret Woodbury Strong Museum in Rochester, New York.
The finished sampler measures 9 1/2 inches by 11 1/2 inches.
Included in the kit are: -charted directions for thread count - natural linen (25 threads to the inch) -floss by DMC; and -needle.
This unique mid to late 18th century design includes fanciful animals, such as birds and rabbits, are surrounded by a meandering floral border. Stitches used include cross stitch, eyelet stitch, tent stitch, satin stitch, outline, long and short stitches and reverse tent stitch.
The 17 colours used range from tans, greens, blue, russet, taupe, peach, yellow green and ivory.
