This is a scoured Navajo Churro fleece, that has not yet been processed into roving. It was scoured in small net bags to preserve lock structure as much as possible. There was no category for washed fiber so please understand that this wool is ready for you to comb or card, to make it ready for spinning. The wool comes from our own sheep "Meadow" ,who is considered to be a badger, consisting of mostly white but some black and brown fibers in her fleece. This is a dual coated breed ,meaning that it has a soft undercoat and a coarser outercoat, which can be separated by hand. The fiber is typically used in outer garments that are not worn next to the skin or it may be used to make rugs. The staple length is 8-9 inches typically ,but may contain some areas that are slightly shorter. Meadow was not coated but the fiber is extremely clean with very little vegetable matter. The wool is sold in 8 ounce increments.
