Known by a few names. Bacon opal, banded opal, and candy stripe opal. This piece has a lot of layers on one half, more of a bacon look on the other half, separated by a Druzy layer. Great specimen for your rock collection. It can be cut and polished, but be aware it will probably split into two stones because of delicate center layer. Size of this gem is about 2 inches long 1 inch wide 1 inch tall. Found in Beaver county Utah.
