Item details

This industrial style brass cabinet door or drawer handle could help bring a little steampunk aesthetic into your home.

With an antique finish, it's 112mm long and is thick enough to give you a good solid grip.

The screw holes are spaced 96mm apart. It comes with screws but you may need to source ones of a length to suit your project.

I estimate the handle would protrude about 33mm from the door or drawer.

Larger quantities of these than what I have in stock would need to be made to order.

These may look a little distorted in my photographs but please rest assured that they are straight.

PayPal is my preferred method of payment. Don't have it? You can still pay that way using your credit card. Just click on the PayPal icon at checkout and follow the prompts.

Ornately-carved wooden doors are a common feature of Balinese architecture and truly offer a portal to another world.

Traditionally, the doors were made of kayu jati - teak - or kayu nangka – the wood of the jackfruit tree – and adorned the homes of Balinese royalty and the high caste Brahmana.

Nowadays, they can be found everywhere, including the entrance to your villa or homestay.

The doors are carved with motifs such as deities, shadow puppet characters, and fauna and flora, with the details often painted in bright colours with lots of golden touches.

If you're interested in Balinese architecture, visit the Bali Museum in Denpasar, the island's capital.

The word for “door” in Bahasa Indonesia is pintu.
“Every age has a keyhole to which its eye is pasted.” ~ American author, critic and political activist Mary McCarthy, June 21, 1912 – October 25, 1989
