Item details

The WinterBud scarf is inspired by the lofty fuzziness of the soy yarn. What else is there to think of during those winter months but the flowers that will come soon while attempting to stay warm.

WinterBud is a fun, quick and fairly easy knitting project. The scarf is knit in two pieces and sewn together or a provisional cast on can be used. Knitted with increases and decreases flowing back and forth, you can knit this in any yarn and it would look lovely in a linen or cotton for the summer months.

Here are the stitches you need to know -

Sl1 k1 psso—slip one stitch from left needle, k1 stitch, then pass the slipped stitch over the knitted stitch
K2tog—knit 2 stitches together
P2tog—Purl 2 stitches together
P2togtbl—Purl 2 stitches through the back loop
( take needle and push through pack loops from left to right—or Slip one stitch as if to knit, Slip another stitch as if to knit. Insert left-hand needle into front of these 2 stitches and knit them together
kpkpkpkpk) in 1—make 9 stitches in one

This is the first time I have tried 9 stitches in one stitch - took a couple of tries to get it just right and looking like your picture. Now I actually can't wait to get to that stitch. It is looking great - thanks so much. jean

Wonderful pattern, easy instructions. Just have to decide on colors - one for each season seems about right. Thanks, M ;-)
