I was able to pick up a couple of lovely fabrics from a recent trip to Japan. The prints are all 100% Japanese Cotton, lovely fabric and very cute patterns. I've made a selection of the fabric into Furoshiki (風呂敷-ふろしき), 50 cm by 50cm. Furoshiki are often used as a useful eco-friendly, reusable and washable carry cloth wrap for Bento (弁当-べんと), also known as your lunch box. You can use the cloth as a headscarf or bandanna. It also works well as a beautiful and reusable gift wrap. There is a very instructive diagram here (https://www.env.go.jp/en/focus/attach/060403-5.html) if you want to see some different ways to use your Furoshiki.
The more complex furoshiki (with the two types of fabric) are joined with a flat felled seam, so that it's nice and smooth on both sides.
The additional fabric on the turquoise Cranes and Sakura (100% Japanese Cotton) fabric is 100% grey linen. The additional fabric on the red Chrysanthemum and Cranes (100% Japanese Cotton) fabric is 100% Organic red cotton.
Please select the fabric you would like when ordering.
