This polymer clay bead was made by me in my home studio.
A friend has been marketing some of her beautiful handmade bracelets in the local shops. She wanted some unique and individual beads to give her bracelets an original look. I thought that there might be more artists out there looking for some handmade beads to help set their creations apart from all the others. Each is handmade and might have some slight variations with each item.
I use many different types of polymer clay techniques in creating these beads. Makume Gane, Kaleidoscope Canes, textures with mica powders and acrylics.
This bead measures approximately (w x l check) 24x19x18mm. The hole size is roughly 10mm X 6mm. I create these designs by layering and rolling different sheets of clay together into a log where the design runs through it (like a refrigerator cookie). This log is called a cane. The cane is then sliced and added to some base clay and rolled into a bead. It gets shaped on a mandrel and then cured. It is finished off with a protective coating to give it a slight sheen.
I am happy to talk to you about special orders and will work with you on shipping if you purchase more than one item.
